A strong earthquake has occurred in the eastern region of Papua New Guinea.
The foreign media reported that the earthquake occurred with a magnitude of 7.2 on the Richter scale.
It is said that it happened at a depth of about 80 km and the tremor was felt in a region of about 100 km in the East Sepik province.
However, the country’s Tsunami Warning Center has issued a notification that there is no risk of a tsunami due to the earthquake, and no information has been reported so far about the damage to life or property.
