Although several users are reporting a malfunction, Instagram appears to be down at the moment. Users are reporting difficulties not just accessing the well-known photo and video-sharing app, but also logging into their accounts and receiving messages that their accounts have been suspended.
Users on Twitter and Downdetector reported the apparent Instagram outage on Monday morning.
Both websites featured multiple complaints claiming that individuals received account suspension messages and lost access to their IG accounts unexpectedly.
These user reports often followed a pattern. Users frequently claimed finding out they couldn’t access their accounts, getting a warning that their accounts had been suspended, and then not knowing why. They then tried to restore their accounts through a verification process, but they were unsuccessful.
It appears that Instagram is aware of the situation. Instagram is aware of the problem and is “looking into it,” according to the following message from the company’s official Twitter account.
