According to Sindh province’s chief minister Murad Ali Shah, it will take three to six months to drain rain and floodwater from flooded districts.

According to ARY News, the Chief Minister informed reporters that flooding and rain had ruined thousands of homes across Sindh and resulted in almost 1,500 fatalities. Siraj Durrani, the interim governor of Sindh, followed Shah.

The chief minister of Sindh claimed that the population had lost animals worth roughly 50 billion rupees.

The chief minister made the following statement in response to Karachi’s electricity load shedding in the sweltering heat: “We have informed to the prime minister and the power division that we are not satisfied with the performance of the power supply firms.”

Nearly 1,200 people have died as a result of floods in Pakistan, which have severely affected 80 districts.

Nearly 650,000 pregnant women in Pakistan’s flood-affected areas need access to healthcare facilities, according to the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), who recently expressed worry about this issue.

In a formal statement, UNFPA stated that “almost 650,000 pregnant women in the flood-affected areas require maternal health care to ensure a safe pregnancy and childbirth.”

According to ARY News, the UN agency also stated that the up to 73,000 women who are due to give birth in the coming month “will need experienced delivery attendants, newborn care, and support.”

The UN Secretary-General, who was in Pakistan for a two-day visit, arrived on Friday to offer his support to the citizens of that nation, who have been battered by torrential monsoon rains that have caused the worst floods in ten years.

The agriculture industry in Pakistan is likely to take the worst hit as a result of the devastating floods, which have caused initial estimates of losses to range between USD 18 billion and zero. This is in contrast to the aim of 3.9 percent that was anticipated for the current fiscal year 2022–23.
