According to television images, the activists raced out from behind barriers where tens of thousands of people had gathered on The Mall, the famous road that leads to Buckingham Palace, and laid down in front of a marching band. Before police hauled the protestors away, one of them looked to be holding a flag. One of the demonstrators was wearing a gold crown on his head.
“We made 12 arrests today for highway obstruction. This follows an incident this morning in which individuals attempted to access The Mall’s ceremonial path “According to police on Twitter. The Trooping the Colour military procession, held each year to commemorate the Queen’s official birthday, features around 1,500 troops and officers.
