Sen. Joe Manchin announced on Friday that he will vote in favor of Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson for the Supreme Court, as the nomination nears confirmation.
“I have determined that I intend to vote for her nomination to serve on the Supreme Court after meeting with her, examining her record, and closely observing her testimony and questioning before the Senate Judiciary Committee this week,” Manchin, D-W.Va., said in a statement on Friday.
“Judge Jackson’s diverse expertise in several aspects of our judicial system has given her a unique perspective that will serve her well on our nation’s highest court,” Manchin added. “She was welcoming and gracious during our meeting. She has the temperament to be an excellent jurist, in addition to her strong resume.”
